Mo Jingchun had finally figured out what felt off.
What was the point of sending an empty cargo ship to the Moon?
Unless it was an emergency, there was no reason to send a ship out empty.
"Boss, you thought of it too."
Mo Jingchun raised an eyebrow but didn't deny it.
"You don't think they found some kind of alien spaceship on the Moon, do you?"
Zero shrugged. "I have no idea. I'm not omniscient. But probably not. The ship's so big—what good would one cargo ship do?"
After a pause, Zero continued, "Besides, the major powers keep a close eye on everything happening on the Moon. They wouldn't knowingly do something that risks exposing its presence."
"That makes sense." Mo Jingchun shook his head. "Let's pretend we didn't notice. Guessing won't tell us the right answer."
"We've got things to do. There's no need to know too much. Knowing too many secrets can become a burden."
Smiling, Mo Jingchun joked, "If we found out there was an alien spaceship on the Moon, we probably wouldn't sleep at night. So why invite the worry? If the sky falls, someone taller will hold it up."
"When there's nothing else going on, I can work in the lab and watch Candy grow up. That's enough to make me happy."
Mo Jingchun looked at Zero for a long while without a word. He thought he'd left her speechless.
But... he was wrong.
Zero blinked playfully, looking utterly innocent.
"Boss, I don't think I need to sleep."
Mo Jingchun fell silent, at a loss for words.
Silence... One either perished in it or erupted out of it.
He rested his right hand on Zero's shoulder and said evenly,
"I said you need to sleep too."
Zero didn't dare run her mouth after that.
