That laughter seemed almost magical. Employees nearby couldn't help sneaking a look to see what had made the usually dignified Zero burst out laughing.

Baozi and Xiao Huihui? What was so funny about them? Everyone was puzzled.

Wasn't it just Baozi getting hooked to a dog leash? What was so funny about that? It wasn't the first time, anyway.

The next moment, everyone went back to staring intently at their work, just as they had been before.

Zero glanced back and rolled her eyes. These people hadn't known her for only a day. Didn't they know she was different from humans and didn't need her eyes to see the things around her?

Everyone else might not know why she was laughing, but Zero did. Hadn't Candy just said something outrageous in the boss's office? She was going to put Baozi on a diet...

Zero gave Baozi a serious look and nodded. The cat really did need to lose weight. Baozi already had fatty liver disease.

Who said cats had short lives? Getting the snip was only a matter of time, but if Baozi got snipped early, Candy would be heartbroken.

With that thought, Zero made up her mind.

"Candy, I'll design a special pedometer for Baozi. I'll have it ready before we get off work so we can put it on him."

Candy's face lit up with delight.

"Baozi, hurry up and thank Zero."

Baozi looked up, utterly despondent, at Zero's devilish grin. The whole cat felt doomed.

In fact, Zero did have some great ideas.

If her custom-designed pedometer only counted steps, wouldn't that make her look unprofessional?

It needed, at the very least, a reminder function to encourage Baozi to take his daily walks "voluntarily."
