"What's wrong? You look so serious. Did something happen?" Li Xuanyu asked, stepping out of the kitchen with an apron tied around her waist and her hair loose, concern filling her eyes.
Mo Jingchun pulled Li Xuanyu into his arms and smiled. "What could've happened? Even if something huge did happen, your man could handle it. I'm not bragging, but even aliens would have to get on their knees when they showed up."
Li Xuanyu shot Mo Jingchun an exasperated look. And he said he wasn't bragging! Given Blue Star's level of technological development, if they really encountered aliens capable of interstellar travel, even the weakest ones would be more than Blue Star's people could handle.
Nuclear weapons were certainly powerful, but their true destructive force came from nuclear radiation. In outer space, though, there was no Ozone Layer, atmosphere, or protection from Blue Star's own Magnetic Field. Space was already saturated with all kinds of deadly radiation at all times.
That was why nuclear weapons had a much smaller area of effect in space.
By contrast, if an alien civilization released various viruses and bacteria onto Blue Star, it would be a disaster for its people.
They could achieve the greatest victory at the lowest cost.
There was an insurmountable gulf between civilizations of different levels. It was like ants and humans: ants could hurt people, and might even kill them, but it was still ridiculously easy for a human to crush an ant.
"I have an important meeting this afternoon. I might get back late tonight. When Candy comes home, make sure she does her homework."
Pfft—
Li Xuanyu couldn't help laughing. "You're quite something as an older brother. You never did your homework when you were young, but now you're making demands of your little sister."
Mo
