In the cozy pink bedroom, Candy and Zero stared each other down.
If you ignored the bed that had been cut clean in half, the Girly Pink room was practically perfect.
Seeing Zero's unbothered expression, Candy put her hands on her hips and pleaded, "Zero, can't you help me lift it?"
"It's not my allowance. Besides, that doesn't sound much like you're asking for help."
Since the box really was a little too heavy, Candy could only put on a sweet smile and coax her. "Please, Zero, help me out."
Zero cracked her neck and smiled disdainfully. "Move aside. I can handle it myself. I've told you to eat more. Now you're short on strength when you need it, huh?"
Candy smiled at that but said nothing.
She'd let Zero help her move the box of savings into the room next door first. Talking back to Zero now would be stupid, wouldn't it?
By the time Candy finished up and went downstairs to eat, she found that her brother and sister-in-law had already started.
Seeing no extra bowls or chopsticks on the table, Candy couldn't help pouting. She didn't need to guess or ask; she knew it had to be her brother's idea.
Her sister-in-law had probably already brought the bowl and chopsticks to the table, only for her brother to take them away again.
Candy knew her brother's little tricks inside and out.
She walked into the kitchen and opened the cupboard as usual. The next second, she froze.
The cupboard was only so big. How had her bowl disappeared?
Candy stood at the kitchen doorway, feeling a little exasperated. She clasped her hands and conceded defeat. "Brother, I'll give in. Where's my eating bowl?"
