Background / History
Jiang Shu began as an ordinary student from Jicheng and trained at the Hungry Tiger Martial Arts School in Pingling County. His early growth was shaped by the Horse Stance, the Hungry Tiger Sitting Cave Stance, and the Tiger Form Three Styles. After killing Zhao Tai, he became markedly more decisive and intolerant of threats to his martial path. 11 30
He became Elder Qiu’s thirteenth formal disciple after killing Poison Fang Hall master Zheng Kun to save Old Man Li. The promotion gave him access to the inner city, where he rented a courtyard and partnered with Zhou Yang’s family restaurant using recipes from Xuan Star. 34
His rapid progress forced him into conflict with the Yao family. He killed Yao Wenbai, later slaughtered Yao Zhengchang and several Yao juniors, then fled Pingling County rather than await retaliation. 94 122
In Xuan Star, Jiang Shu entered Jiangnan Academy, received martial arts training from Xie Feichen, and became a publicly recognized martial arts prodigy. He later founded Shu Yan Pharmaceutical Company, developed an alchemy AI with Zhang Rui, and became a professor at Jiangnan Academy. 58 178
Under the name Shang Junming, he entered the Danxia Chamber of Commerce’s sphere of influence. He defeated Zhou Heng, became a first-class genius of the Chamber, won the Zhang family’s prefectural genius competition, and defeated Zhao Zhongming in a life-and-death duel. 157 223 238
Jiang Shu won first place in the Hundred Dynasties War and entered the True Martial Sect as a servant disciple. His cultivation and combat record quickly elevated him beyond the sect’s ordinary hierarchy; Daojun Zi Ji eventually accepted him as a disciple after Jiang Shu demonstrated mastery of eighty-two Divine Abilities in the Yuan Core Realm. 326 448
He later became a major figure of the Nine Universes Merchant Alliance, earning recognition as an unparalleled genius after his Genius Trial Tower performance. His continuing rise made him a central powerhouse across Xuan Star, the Great Jing Dynasty, the Vast Wilderness Domain, and the Star Ruins Realm. 591 768
Appearance
Jiang Shu is described as handsome, with slightly long hair brushing his ears. Even while dressed simply, he carries himself with maturity and a sense of security; his movements in combat are sharp and forceful. 15
- Usually wears simple clothing early in his journey. 15
- Later appears in long robes, including white robes during high-level cultivation conflicts. 747 753
- Has long hair in his later years; his appearance becomes closely associated with the public image of “Martial God Jiang.” 390

Personality
Jiang Shu is direct, pragmatic, and intensely focused on cultivation. Zheng Yanbo describes him as straightforward: he repays kindness with kindness and grievances with grievances. 40
He is not needlessly cruel, but he is willing to kill when he believes it protects his path, his allies, or his family. His early thoughts after Zhao Tai’s death show a cold resolve toward anyone who repeatedly intrudes on his secrets or obstructs his martial arts. 11
Despite fame, wealth, and status, Jiang Shu repeatedly rejects distractions. He declines social invitations to focus on cultivation, turns down the Zhang family’s grand prize after winning their competition, and prioritizes returning home to his family over public admiration. 223 225 255
