Su Chen was driving to the seafood market.
The seafood market was quite far away. It would take half an hour to get there.
On the way, he got a call from his mom.
"Son, is now a good time to talk? There's something Mom would like to discuss with you privately," Su's Mom said over the phone.

"Your dad and I are retired now, and we have nothing to do at home. If you need our help with anything, just let us know. We can come over right away."

"You two just stay home. When the university goes on break next month, I'll come back for the New Year."

Su's Mom didn't understand stocks at all.
"I'd better call my friend first and ask," Su's Dad said cautiously.
"Come on, let's open an account as soon as possible so we can start making money. We should just go open one this afternoon," Su's Mom urged.
"Don't rush."
After Su's Dad asked his friend about the stock, his friend said that although it looked stable at the moment, he wouldn't recommend buying it. It could suddenly crash at any time.
Su's Dad said little else. He asked his friend what documents they needed to open an account and where the brokerage was, then took a taxi there with Su's Mom.

The girl looked about eighteen. Her makeup was so heavy that it was hard to make out what she really looked like.
But it was obvious that her features were exceptionally pretty.
She was even more beautiful and eye-catching than Xiao Wu in the animated series or the live-action drama.
So lifelike.
She really did look like a Soft Bone Rabbit.
"Big Brother, you're finally here! Hurry and save me!" The girl threw her arms around him and hid behind his back.
Then she poked her head out from behind him, the headband with two rabbit ears sticking up, and looked toward a group of hoodlums chasing her around the corner.
She made a taunting face. "Bleh! My brother's here. Let's see if you still dare try anything with me!"
There were eight hoodlums.
They were all dressed in cosplay costumes, though theirs looked like sidekick outfits.
The hoodlums clearly didn't believe Su Chen was the girl's brother. One of them pointed at him and threatened, "Mister, this has nothing to do with you. Get lost."
Su Chen frowned. He hadn't wanted to get involved.
But he didn't like people pointing at him and telling him what to do.
What's more, this bunch of hoodlums clearly weren't decent people.
It was broad daylight, and they were chasing an eighteen-year-old girl. They clearly had bad intentions.
He said coldly, "You think you can tell me what to do?"
"Who do you think you are?"
Meng Ding, the hoodlum leading the group, was startled by the aura Su Chen gave off.
