Su Chen patted Lin Wanxue on the shoulder and gave her a look that said not to worry.
After ending one call, Lin Wanxue called Bai Luo again.
This time, Bai Luo answered.
Lin Wanxue immediately called out, "Master."
"Mm."
"Have you arrived at Tongtian Island?"
"Just got here."
"Good. I brought you breakfast. I'll come see you. Where are you now?"
"I'll send it to you on WeChat."
"Okay."
Lin Wanxue hung up, opened WeChat, and saw that Bai Luo had sent her an address.
She tapped it open. It wasn't far from where they were.
Lin Wanxue and Su Chen brought the food over.
When they reached the Bai family's base, they followed the room number Bai Luo had sent and stopped outside her door. They rang the bell.
"Wait a moment." A muffled groan came from inside.
Lin Wanxue furrowed her brow and looked up at Su Chen with concern.
Su Chen reassuringly patted her shoulder.
After about five minutes, the door opened. As usual, Bai Luo was wearing a white dress.
But Su Chen noticed that her lips were pale and she didn't look well.
He recalled the muffled groan in Bai Luo's voice when Lin Wanxue had knocked just moments ago.
Bai Luo must have been injured.
Lin Wanxue noticed, too. She and Su Chen entered the room, and Bai Luo closed the door.
"Master, I brought you a hot breakfast. Have a little first."
As she spoke, Lin Wanxue glanced around the room, looking for any sign of what had happened—bloody bandages, iodine, cotton swabs, or anything else used to dress a wound.
That way, she could ask Bai Luo if she was hurt.
But after looking around the living room, she didn't see any of those things.
"Put it on the dining table.
