Background

Su Ye is the son of Su Xiaotian, whose disappearance allowed Su Yi—Su Xiaotian's biological brother—to take control of the Imperial Capital's Su family. Su Ye had once been considered a possible future patriarch because of his exceptional talent. 339 376

Before leaving the Imperial Capital, Su Ye was found unconscious at the bottom of a cliff by Jiang Yuxiu, then known as Xiao Yuxiu. She had survived alone in a valley after being raised by a white wolf; Su Ye taught her language and literacy while recovering, and their relationship developed from there. 541

Thirty-seven years before the main story, Su Yi attempted to force Su Ye to abandon the pregnant Xiao Yuxiu and marry Ye Xianfeng to secure an alliance with the Ye family.
