Just as the two finished clearing out the zombies and caught their breath,
the factory's small metal door opened from the inside. A chubby Black man cautiously poked his head out and beckoned them over.
"Come in, come in."
Tao Yu and Jack had only just finished clearing the zombies when the fat man showed up. He'd clearly been watching them on the security cameras the whole time.
Once they were inside, the fat man gently shut the door, afraid that the noise might attract the zombies in the distance.
"Hello. My name's James. I'm a regular security guard at the lab. I usually handle access control and things like that."
The inside of the factory looked ordinary enough, but it was clear that it had originally been used to store food. Racks were piled high with canned goods and individual rations for American soldiers. It wasn't hard to see why the fat man was so well-fed.
At least they didn't have to worry about food or drink.
