Homelander looked at Ryan with elation, not caring in the slightest about his attitude toward him.

At that moment, Tao Yu was also dressed in a white robe. He drifted down slowly through the opening and silently watched the scene before him, then glanced at Billy Butcher.

A man willing to risk everything for revenge, whose story ran through this entire world—he was certainly a Chosen One, too.

All this time, Billy Butcher had believed that Homelander had assaulted his wife and fathered an illegitimate child with her. He had spent his whole life hunting Homelander for revenge and had formed The Boys, a group dedicated to targeting superheroes. His nickname was the Butcher.

Looking at the corpse of the three-headed hellhound beside him, Tao Yu understood that the man had already gained some improvements from killing.

But compared with the superpowers he'd gained by using temporary Compound V, it was still a long way off.

Although temporary Compound V would greatly shorten Billy Butcher's lifespan, it was less dangerous for adults than real Compound V.

And he'd been quite lucky: temporary Compound V had granted him a set of abilities very similar to Homelander's.

It was rather ironic, really. Maybe it was because you dreamed about what you thought of all day...

Tao Yu didn't dislike Billy Butcher, but he certainly didn't like him either.

He was the kind of man who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

And at the moment, there were still quite a few uncertainties surrounding him.

But his wife was still alive, and Homelander only cared about his own child. It seemed like the two men might even manage to maintain a ridiculous sort of balance...
