"Has the Wolf Girl left too?"
At the docks of Origin Harbor, Murphy had just finished his "free clinic" and taken off his doctor's coat. He glanced back at Adele, who was waiting there, and the intelligence officer immediately reported:
"Yes. The heads of state all suffered injuries of varying severity while escorting the Pharaoh's coffin. King Louis was the most seriously wounded. The Wolf Girl was hit in the arm by a meltagun, and Governor Hood is mildly dehydrated from spending so long in the desert.
"Lord Oufg is returning to Silverkeep to supervise the Dwarf Marshal and his new bride as they make a baby. He probably doesn't intend to let Loren get involved in the border situation of the Plantagenet Kingdom again anytime soon.
"Other than Princess Chuchute and Hogg, all the other heads of state have already set out for home.
"Before leaving aboard the airship, the Wolf Girl specifically sent an aide to convey her thanks to you. She left Grand Duchess Shani, Count Andre, and twenty Winter Wolf Sword Saints here to assist with our operation.
"Also, Lady Hood left this for you."
Adele handed Murphy an invitation in the style of the Atlantean merfolk.
He took it and couldn't help remarking that these mermaid ladies were real high rollers. The invitation was decorated with a huge pearl. Just look at that damned, alluring nouveau-riche style. Anyone who didn't know it was their custom would think this was a bribery scene.
Murphy curled his lip. With impeccable taste, he didn't pocket the pearl, but instead opened the invitation and took a look.
Written in a solemn, formal tone, it invited Murphy and his Heroes to attend the "Tide Festival," which would be held in Great Reef Province a month and a half from now.
