Actually, by the time Murphy had made a flashy leap into the attacked maintenance area in his Warmaster Armor, the "swarm assault" was already nearing its end.
The Sandstorm Bug, summoned as their "trump card," had been bitten until it was a bloody mess by Eris. Now it only wanted to burrow beneath the sand to escape its impending death, but the cunning Eris froze the sand with a chilling wind, leaving it completely unable to flee. In the end, five power-armored knights like ravenous wolves hacked it to pieces with chainswords, draining its blood.
Murphy landed just in time to steal the kill with his Wolf-Fang Dragon Spear. He interrupted the sandworm as it tried to bite Eris and take them both down, then used the force of his landing to drive the spear through the Sandstorm Bug, ripping apart its hideous lamprey-like mouth.
"Clang!"
The Warmaster Armor slammed into the ground. Eris, covered in fresh wounds, crouched like a dog amid the settling sandstorm and bared her teeth at Murphy.
"Hey, annoying Murphy, you stole my kill! Maybe I'm not human, but you're definitely a kill-stealer!"
"You're no warrior, Eris, so why care? Go enjoy some sandworm. Remember to leave the hide behind. The Sangha people consider it a gift from the great desert, and it can be made into pretty decent light armor. It'll make a perfect reward for my warriors."
Murphy waved as he strode toward the raging swarm behind him, Wolf-Fang Dragon Spear in hand.
But with ten Steel Dragon Cavalrymen dropped in from the air to provide fire support, the soldiers under General Bopar and the players immediately began pushing back. They clustered around the Dragon Cavalrymen and wiped out the ground-dwelling bugs pouring out of the sand.
