Berdinos fled through the ruined streets of the Holy City of Origin. He wasn't looking for a way out; he was trying to get close to the Sun Colossus. With Lord Parom tied up by Murphy's demigod ally, only by regaining control of the colossus could he see his own vision and path through to the end.

Though Murphy had revealed the truth, people who made it this far weren't necessarily clever, but they were certainly stubborn. Without a sufficiently resolute heart, no one could carry such a plan to its conclusion. Perhaps Berdinos didn't disbelieve anything Murphy had said, but by now it was too late to turn back.
