Scarlet Keep was still bustling and full of life today, but compared to before, this already thriving city felt a little less lively.
The main reason was probably that, aside from the administrative and manufacturing players, most outsiders were now far away in the Great Reef Province, rooting out evil. Ever since the Black Calamity had ended, the player army had been campaigning elsewhere for months.
From the Genoa Peninsula to the Land of Origin, then to the Forest Kingdom and finally the Merfolk Province, there had been no shortage of game events, large and small. On top of that, players now had many more choices for their starting locations, so Scarlet Keep, the "Beginner Village No. 001," had quieted down too.
Without the players constantly laughing and joking, Scarlet Keep's longtime residents always felt as if something were missing. For example, they hadn't cleaned out their storage rooms in ages. Unfortunately, this time of year made it hard to find those "kind souls" who would help residents clean their houses for free.
Still, the players' departure wasn't all bad.
For the administrators of the city and Transia, it meant they no longer had to spend so much time dealing with the players' various bizarre antics.

With the end of the workday approaching, Mirian leisurely brewed herself a cup of tea in her office on the top floor of the administrative building. She stood by the window, looking out over the city as she killed time until the bell rang.
