Old Su's muttering echoed through the Warp. He was currently guarding the Seed of Holy Light deep within its depths with his pack of wolves. As Old Ao had feared, the Warp's depths had not quieted down just because the frontline had retreated and most of the Chaos shadows had been distracted by Old Ao.
Clearly, even if every Warp shadow had been drawn away by Old Ao's self-destruction, the lunatic Original Sin would never let anything connected to the material world go.
Especially not the Seed of Holy Light that Murphy had personally "planted."
It had not appeared in person to defile this radiant seed, but it had sent a great general at the head of an entire Chaos legion to raid their home. If Old Ao hadn't arranged for Old Su to guard the place, the Seed of Holy Light would likely have been lost today.
Even so, even with preparations made in advance, Old Su had found this battle rather difficult.
He was now a god of faith, without the protection of order granted by an artificial divinity. That already put him at a disadvantage when fighting Chaos corruption. He wasn't in danger of being tainted by the Warp, but both the intensity and duration of his battles had declined considerably.
For an old man like Old Su, that was a truly tragic turn of events in every respect.
