"Holy crap! That's a hell of a lot of them."

Furry the Great Immortal had just killed an elite bug while leading several mighty battle beasts on a group hunt. As he harvested loot from the bizarre creature with his hunting knife, he complained to Moonlit Wild Wolf beside him:

"Why do the enemies we run into always have this damn numerical advantage? And is it just me, or does this thing look a lot like an Xenomorph? The elite bugs especially—not only do they look alike, their attacks are similar too. Hell, even the tongue that shoots out of their mouths is exactly the same."

"Mm. It's not just you. They really do look alike."

Moonlit Wild Wolf frowned at the black elite bug still twitching at his feet.

The creature had shed the round scarab-like shape of an ordinary bug and turned into a bizarre humanoid.

Its body was built much like a Xenomorph's, covered in glossy black chitin armor. But it had four slashing claws, a fearsome head, a tongue it could shoot out to attack, and a huge tail covered in bony spikes.

Its combat prowess more than lived up to its specialized appearance!

Even a Silver-ranked fighter would have a hard time driving it back without injury when ambushed by several elite bugs. Its speed and agility were deadly. At medium range, it could spit foul, corrosive bile from its mouth; one careless moment, and you'd be disfigured before its crossing claws took your head.

Honestly, running into one of these things unexpectedly at night would scare any coward half to death.

The only good news was that there weren't many elite bugs. They were more like the swarm's vanguard generals—not responsible for command, but for charging in and breaking through enemy lines.
