Little Ashina, piloting Big Bear One, shouted at the top of her lungs as she fought her way through the chaotic tunnels of the bug hive. Today, she was getting to live out her Pacific Rim pilot fantasy.
Little Potato felt as if she'd become a steel giant, lifting her heavy iron feet to casually stomp bugs that dared to grow taller than her. The cockpit had grown unbearably hot from the waste heat of prolonged combat, and the machine's roaring battered her head like a chisel, but she could put up with all of that while she rampaged through the enemy ranks.
To put it in less than appropriate terms, if Little Potato had the relevant equipment, she'd be flying a flag right now.
But Lumina, who was serving as her gunner, was having a rough time. Repetitively operating the three armed mechanical arms to hack through bugs was too tedious for the bard to enjoy the fight. Sure, using the cutting saw to shred bugs was satisfying, but Lumina was already a Silver-ranked warrior. She could do just as much without this machine.
Maybe she just wasn't the target audience. Either way, she was already starting to lose interest.
"Hey, Lumina! Stop slacking off and get fired up!"
Little Ashina urged her on from below.
"Come on, fight alongside me! Let's hit four hundred percent synchronization and keep killing anything in our way! The brain bug's just ahead, and these bugs are going berserk!"
