The smooth liberation of Abyssal City was good news.
It meant the final section of the Locust Wall had finally been completed. With Abyssal City incorporated into the northern end of this colossal defensive line, the Dark Mountains had been officially split in two by the wall.
From the Vampire Coast, past Broken Tooth Heights, then north along the border of the Gnoll Kingdom and into the Ashen Plains, before finally joining up with the Misty Mountains at Abyssal City—the crooked defensive line stretched for nearly five hundred kilometers, blocking the swarm's land forces from advancing into the civilized world.
It was impossible to build a defensive line in the air, but with help from the Tower of Rings and the Cloudmist Order, and cooperation from the earth priests, "no-fly barriers" would be set up along the Locust Wall as it was built. Within a certain distance of the wall, the power of flight would be stripped away. The sky's symbolic power, drawn from Kurkan, would also prevent the flying insects from easily crossing it.
Unless they could destroy a section of wall serving as a vessel for that symbol.
However, Kurkan couldn't discriminate in how it applied the power that forbade flight. So while the flying insects couldn't cross, neither could armed airships or flying races on either side of the wall's main battlefield. They could only conduct low-altitude bombing, staying below the wall's height.
For that reason, the Locust Wall also needed to be built with dedicated flight platforms for airships to take off and land.
All in all, building this wall was essentially the Order faction bringing out every last one of its trump cards. Four sunships alone had been stationed here as a reserve force. Apart from the Lightchaser, which was about to depart for the
