Murphy hadn't actually been trying to show off.
He really had just obtained the Blood Progenitor template and didn't know how to control or handle the thing yet. The principle was simple: if a twenty-year veteran used to driving a little Alto suddenly got behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce, he'd be all thumbs too.
