A Level Twelve Psionic Fluctuation Detected! The Great Devourer Has Broken Out of Its Nest
The core region of Hive Zero had become the most chaotic battlefield. Led by even more frenzied players, the Bloodfiends were attacking the paths to the central incubation chamber from several directions at once. The Gray Expeditionary Force's assault had been so overwhelming, and they had arrived so quickly, that the Nest Lords tasked with protecting the Scale Father hadn't had time to muster the elite bugs and swarm lords nearby.
But the bugs showed no fear as they charged the invaders head-on. The desire to witness the Scale Father's emergence had driven them completely mad. They fought as if they were high on drugs, trying to stop those dangerous lunatics from approaching the Scale Father, who was undergoing his final evolution.
Their opponents, however, were a group of red-eyed foreigners.
Driven by their desire, the players were growing more and more ferocious. They weren't reduced to strapping explosives to themselves and taking their enemies with them like they had when they were weaker, but these guys were powerful now. Even the notoriously savage Bloodfiends were having trouble pushing forward, yet the players still surged ahead like a tide sweeping all before it.
Every player selected for the Gray Expeditionary Force had one or more "special tricks" up their sleeve. The main force breaking through the enemy lines right now, for instance, was the most elite group of power-armored knights among the players.
These guys had moved past the awkward stage of relying solely on their armor's mechanical strength to fight. They'd figured out all kinds of ways to customize both themselves and their armor.
Especially the players who were good at engineering.
They were no longer satisfied with the limits imposed by their power armor's "standard performance." With help from the Mechanicus's "oil-heads," who dared to take apart just
