In the jungle safe zone outside the Feathered Serpent Fortress, Meow Shark lounged on a tree branch, exploring all the extra features of the Guardian Spirit gameplay. He spoke to Cheche, who sat beside him looking bored:
"Not only did it give me a new minor talent tree for my Path based on Karuru's power, it also gave me a transformation skill called 'Lynx Form.' I can't use it in combat, only for getting around and looking cool, but it's still pretty great.
"It's just that Karuru is way too weak.
"After I bonded with a Guardian Spirit, all I got was a permanent boost of five points each to perception and dexterity! A good potion gives you more than that.
"What's the difference between that and nothing?"
As he spoke, he activated Lynx Form. With a loud yowl, he transformed into a little lynx. His white fur looked sleek, and he was practically a miniature Karuru.
But walking on all fours felt strange, so Meow Shark toddled along like a drunk kitty, swaying and constantly flicking his tail.
"Tch. It's free, and you're still complaining?"
Cheche said with an annoyed look:
"If you don't want it, give it to someone else. I heard this thing shares the demigod symbol of the Holy Spirits. As long as you max out the special branch of your Path, you can try to follow it to demigodhood once you reach the peak of the Golden Tier.
"That sounds pretty damn powerful. Why the hell isn't there a Holy Spirit for spellcasters?"
"There is!"
