Later that day, a travel-worn visitor crossed the tunnels of the Shattered Star Realm and, under Old Tritan's protection, arrived at the Millennium Sea of Sand.
It wore a cloak to conceal its identity and was dressed like a traveler. Following the usual procedure, it submitted a visitation request to the priests of the Church of the Dead Moon of Sangha, stationed in the Origin Fortress above the Creation Engine, and explained its reasons. After several hours of inspection and questioning, it was allowed through and escorted by several Netherworld Lords into the outer reaches of the Creation Engine.
Murphy had opened this place to Sangha's pilgrims as the end point of their journey. The faithful who walked across the Millennium Sea of Sand on their own two feet to pay the Creator their highest respects could stay here for one night, resting on the platform above the Creation Engine and seeing for themselves the place where the world-shaping power resided.
That was comfort enough for the Creator's faithful across the world, especially since, when they left, they could receive a grain of sand infused with the energy of creation from the Church of the Dead Moon as a reward for their pilgrimage.
It was an excellent crafting material. Made into a pendant or amulet, it could protect a pilgrim from the temptations of Chaos.
Thus, once the first group of pilgrims returned home, tales of this treasure, known as "Creation Sand," began to spread. It drew quite a few adventurers hoping to cash in.
Unfortunately, only those who crossed the sea of sand and reached the holy city of Origin without outside help could receive such a gift. Anyone who tried to cheat the system would be stopped outside the holy city, driven out of the Sangha Empire, and
