1546: Defend the World Tree-The Battle Began as the Decisive Battle. This Is So Damn Exciting!

When the Earth Mother had first shaped the Astral Colossus, she bound this special planar wall to the space of the Shattered Astral Realm, then infused it with the power of her core symbol. As a result, anyone seeking to enter the Astral Realm from another plane or direction had to pass through this divine wall first.

This was Gaia's way of making amends for what she owed her homeland. The terms of the Mother Goddess's second Frontier Pact even included a separate clause concerning the Astral Colossus.

In addition to fighting in the Warp to hold back Chaos, the Mother Goddess was also required to protect the Astral Colossus. Just as Old Ao had shaped the Cloudmist Rampart from his own shattered body during the great war against the Shadows of Chaos, this Astral wall had become Gaia's "lifebound treasure," bound to her own fate.

It was an extremely risky thing to do.

If the Colossus were breached and razed, the Mother Goddess would be dragged down with it, falling into a state of weakness from which she could barely recover.

But she had done it anyway.

As it turned out, Mother Goddess Gaia had indeed been far-sighted!

Especially now, during the decisive battle for the Astral Realm. The armies pouring out of the Sea of Chaos had been partially held back by Old Ao at the Cloudmist Rampart on the Warp's border. The rest crashed into the Astral Colossus's wall with the full force of the Sea of Chaos's surging waves today, and most of them were stopped there, too.

Some managed to get past the Colossus and invade the Shattered Astral Realm, but their numbers were less than a tenth of the Chaos army.

They were no match for the newborn gods, who fought like ravenous wolves.
