The outsiders had returned to the Blackflame Pass outpost not only to recover Lord Heather's relics. They had other goals here as well.

However, the appearance of a Dark Lord Infector was an ominous sign. Although Lord Heather and the banished Dark Lord had both been swept into the depths of the Astral Plane, the evil god had most likely already spread its power before being driven from the material world.

It could spread in much the same way as the hunting Chosen the Grand Warlord Huggerson had encountered in Mossy Valley.

Given the Dark Lord's current state, its Chosen was undoubtedly the unwilling Lord Heather. But that didn't mean it couldn't use its power, which transcended reality, to create a group of "Dark Chosen."

If they considered the worst-case scenario, perhaps the Dark Lord's Chosen were still trapped in the ruins of the outpost.

Letting these dangerous creatures run loose was obviously a terrible idea. So when the clever little players encountered the Infectors, they immediately sent a warning and report to the NPCs. Adele then relayed the news to Murphy, who was currently in Shadowglen Valley.

The Vampire Governor immediately recognized the danger. Before long, he issued a quest to the high-level players in Shadowglen Valley:

Event Description:

An expedition team from Transia stumbled upon an evil god's plot while returning to Blackflame Pass. The Dark Lord, banished from the material world by Lord Murphy using Astral Rift, had left behind its corruption. A group of individuals suspected to be the evil god's Chosen were still active around the ruins of Blackflame Pass.

The brave explorers were trapped in the midst of danger, but the message they sent back foretold a new crisis.
