Hogg said he would bring order to the gnolls and help them reclaim their ancestors' noble and glorious traditions. His way of doing that was to show them movies. Well, that sounded a little weird.

But the documentaries about the Golden Age "security operations" that played on repeat in the Gnoll Civilization Museum weren't just entertaining. They secretly contained "obedience protocols" that worked on gnoll minds. So while this method of watching movies to rediscover their traditions seemed unreliable, it was actually quite effective.

After watching a single documentary, the first Broken Tooth gnoll guards summoned into the sanctuary immediately awakened the first spark of their "glory." They weren't quite ready to prostrate themselves before the now incredibly cool Wise Wolf, who could even ride in power armor, but they had begun to question whether the Lord of the Hunt truly was the gnolls' destined god.

The reasoning was actually quite simple.

The Lord of the Hunt was a god who had yet to be born, but the Wise Wolf before them told them their ancestors had once been guardians of the entire world. In the documentaries, they had even seen those mighty gnoll sentinels take part in battles against the evil gods more than once.

With ancestors that awesome, why would we worship some damn evil god unless there was something wrong with our heads?

Most importantly, their ancestors had been personally created by a mighty Maker! And if that wasn't cool enough, their ancestors could ride spaceships and wear exoskeletons!

They had no idea how powerful the Maker really was, but even if only a tenth of the documentaries were true, the steel cities the Maker had built over a thousand years ago were clearly far more impressive
