The Promised Epilogue Was Supposed to Be Lighthearted-Are You Serious About This Combat Difficulty?
The Gilded Dawn was a small airship owned by Perfect Shipping. Ever since Captain Paula had bought it from someone else, it had been handling commercial transport. It had never officially taken part in any of Transia's wars.
Having never seen a battlefield left its captain short on experience handling emergencies. And this time, the ship was carrying three Dragoons, along with replacement weapons and spare materials, which left it overweight. It failed to climb quickly enough and was hit by the damn anti-aircraft fire from the ground.
Still, every halfling Paula appointed captain was a true veteran of the trade. After the initial chaos, the airship's crew immediately began taking measures to save themselves.
The female halfling captain, dressed in a blue captain's uniform, barked orders in a sharp voice. She told her crew to open the ailerons and the huge parachutes atop the airship, while sending others to quickly drain the remaining ballast water from the bladders so the ship could regain some lift.
At the same time, the cargo bay beneath the airship was quickly opened.
The 150 people aboard were players from the Pride of the Undying guild. In terms of experience, they were all bona fide newbies, and plenty of them had only just passed the Black Iron Trial. They were led by the husband-and-wife duo Xu Dog and Mao Rabbit, members of the "Twelve Zodiac."
Though they were newbies and this was their first "plane crash," the players were handling it far better than everyone else.
With parachutes on their backs, their opening times already adjusted, they faced the icy wind rushing at them without the slightest fear. If anything, they looked eager to give it a try.
