"Holy crap! What the hell is that? Is the nightmare back?"

Meow Brother had finally crawled out of the mostly collapsed Blood Vulture Corridor. He looked like a mud-covered wreck, barely clinging to life.

His Four Guardian Kings and his cousin, Little Hand, had all died in the battle just now. Embarrassingly, four of the five had suffered catastrophic failures on their SC rolls, gone out of control, and been killed by Meow Brother himself. But he'd barely made it to the surface and caught his breath when he looked up, froze on the spot, and let out a very player-like cry of shock.

However, there was no one left beside him to echo his cry.

Of the sixty little players who had entered the corridor dungeon together, he was the only one still alive. "Tragic" didn't even begin to describe it.

"Holy crap! Did the sky spring a leak?"

A similarly player-like cry came from behind Meow Brother, making him whip around. He saw Chen Dian Niu Niu, covered in mud like a monkey, climbing out of the collapsed spiral staircase with Invincible Tyrannosaurus Car on his back. Car was exhausted and nearly unconscious.

Well.

The good news was, three of them had survived the dungeon run.

The bad news was, that didn't change how miserable their situation was.

This was basically the worst disaster the players had faced in any battle or test since joining the "True Otherworld." But the very, very, very best news was that they'd won!

The overbearing Salokdar was dead!

They'd cleared the Blood Vulture Corridor!

But before celebrating their victory, the three lucky chosen ones had to figure out what had happened. Above their heads, the starry night sky over the desolate inner district of Cadman City had been "torn apart" once again.
