Ken Porter Bonechewer figured he could easily crush this bunch of fools who didn't know when to quit. They were all cowards, only willing to fight him with numbers on their side.
But this wild, powerful silver-rank gnoll soon realized that things weren't going as smoothly as he'd imagined.
The flail he swung carried tremendous force. Even opponents braced behind heavy shields could barely withstand it. Every blow sent them flying, but the moment one was knocked back, another stepped in.
Those bastard cowards had plenty of tough shield fighters, enough to keep their rotations seamless. And if he couldn't kill the ones tangling with him in a single blow, the fallen fighters would soon recover enough to get back into the fight with help from the healers hiding behind them.
It left Ken Porter thoroughly frustrated.
He felt trapped!
Like a beast caught in a net, with claws and fangs still sharp but no way to break free.
He realized that the enemy worked well together, like parts of a single machine. While the shield fighters held off his attacks, the other melee fighters did their best to sneak in strikes. Their weapons could barely pierce his armor, but there were always spots it didn't cover, and their poisoned weapons kept finding them.
Worse, there were spellcasters among the bastards. Neither direct psychic attacks nor curses that weakened him could be stopped by his armor.
He didn't have a character interface to clearly show all the debuffs piled on him, but he was a hunting priest and knew psychic magic well.
He could tell he was suffering at least from Slowness, Weakness, Increased Damage, Psychic Shock, and Confusion. The enemy's use of psychic powers might not be particularly refined, and his resistance as a hunting priest was decent, but
