Chapter 303: 302. Otherworldly Skyfire
Taking care of Triss was just something Murphy did on the side. For him, as long as he understood the "degenerate" lifestyle the Grand Duke of the Blood Vultures was currently leading, it was easy to cajole her into doing things she couldn't be bothered to do.
In other words, it was a way to boost her "initiative."
But Triss was also exceptionally stubborn.
If she didn't want to do something, then no matter how much Murphy urged or pressured her, she wouldn't lift a finger. It was a unique habit cultivated over years of being a couch potato, and Murphy didn't yet hold enough appeal to make the Scarlet Witch change much more about herself.
Fortunately, Triss was currently just as interested in the little players as Murphy was, so she was quite willing to offer these brave souls what help she could.
And maybe get a little "something" out of it for herself along the way.
Of course, it might not be just a little. According to the information Lady Adele had secretly gathered, thanks to the players' enthusiastic "donations," Grand Duke Triss's "private wine cellar" had already amassed a staggering collection.
There was a rumor that four "traveling scholars" had dug up a noble's wine cellar beneath the ruins of old Cadman City and presented it to Triss. It was hard to say what the traveling scholars got out of it, but such a cunning act of catering to her tastes had clearly earned them a "reward" from Triss.
Murphy didn't mind such little things.
He was glad to see Triss getting along with the little players. After all, she was now his "assistant."
The Governor soon returned to his office next door and continued working on what he'd been busy with.
