The little players' many discussions on the forum about this "situation report" had all caught Murphy's eye. He was pleased with their analysis of the situation, and couldn't help reflecting that his "talent pool" was growing more and more impressive.
The fact that the "old company commander" had taken the initiative to come and devote himself to building Transia was somewhat unsettling. But with the Black Calamity looming, Murphy had plenty of ways to convince himself to accept this "kindness" with a clear conscience.
At the very least, until Maxim grew into a capable commander, these old hands—who had marched in another world and been trained entirely for "great-power conflict and conventional warfare"—would be exceptionally useful. Better still, guerrilla warfare was practically in their blood.
Murphy didn't even need them to put in much effort. Simply assigning these professionals to key command positions in his forces would instantly raise his army's organizational capabilities by several orders of magnitude.
By now, the factions that would take part in the swamp battle had each issued quests, at Murphy's direction, to guide the little players into the swamp. At the rate they were clearing out the skeletons on the outskirts, Murphy and his "development team" had about a week to decide how the battle would unfold.
Put simply, they needed to settle on the "combat mechanics" for the Filthy Swamp raid.
Murphy didn't plan to send the Cadman People's Army, which was still training, into the swamp as a support force. These soldiers, recruited from armed blood thralls and civilians, still lacked training, and Transia's locally produced firearms hadn't yet been issued to them. As far as Murphy was concerned, they needed more time to train.
There was no need to even mention the winged cavalry.
The swamp wasn't their kind of terrain.
