The newly appointed "assistant curator," Ms. Triss, soon arrived at the lower-level staff hall, guided by her Iron Beetle assistant.
At a glance, she spotted Murphy standing at the entrance, deep in thought.
Though he tried his best to hide it, Triss could still see the shock and distress on Murphy's face. Even though he'd been granted access, had his psionic shackles removed, and regained his powers, the psionic overlord's body was still a little weak after being "energy-formatted."
But Triss really was clever.
Once she'd gained access, she'd somehow figured out how to communicate with the Iron Beetle and get an automatic hover wheelchair from the equipment room in the visitor hall. Now she was happily sitting in it, cosplaying as some professor.
She was clearly treating the technological gadget like a psionic item. Whenever she moved her hands, it would glide forward or backward.
Though its inner workings were entirely different, in terms of how it functioned, the hover wheelchair was no different from a psionic flying carpet.
"What's wrong, Murphy?"
Triss quickly piloted her "new ride" over to him. She looked at her boyfriend with concern, while Murphy gave Triss a rather peculiar look.
More specifically, he was staring at the "new outfit" the Blood Eagle Grand Duke was wearing.
It was the assistant curator's uniform she'd just received: a very modern silver-gray ensemble consisting of a gender-neutral little suit and women's wide-legged trousers, paired with a simple pair of high heels.
For reasons of her own, Triss had also found herself a pair of rimless glasses and perched them on her nose. The transformation had taken her from a mysterious Blood Eagle Grand Duke to a modern, even slightly futuristic, urban woman.
Aside from the crimson eyes hidden behind the glasses, Triss looked almost exactly like
