Murphy had found the culprit who'd hurt Eor, and at the same time, the colossal bastard who'd eaten poor Cheche twice. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. The problem was, this suddenly appearing astral serpent was clearly not someone to mess with.
Murphy wasn't the only one who'd realized that. Triss and Lil Fu, who were maintaining the ritual in the material world, sensed it too.
"What the hell is that thing?!"
Through the starlit mist swirling around the ritual before him, Lil Fu could see everything unfolding in the Astral Realm as if in a mirror. When the giant serpent appeared, Mo Ni Qiong nearly jumped out of his skin.
He'd thought Lord Murphy's summoning tonight would amount to little more than a cutscene, but he'd never imagined his mentor would summon something that looked this terrifying.
Its head alone was the size of a castle, for crying out loud!
Straightened out, it had to be at least a kilometer long. What kind of monstrous beast was this?
If they barbecued it, it could probably feed everyone in Transia for months!
Lil Fu instinctively turned to look at Triss, only to find that the Blood Vulture Grand Duke was already panicking. The Scarlet Witch was frantically doing everything she could to activate the spell and pull Murphy's consciousness out of the Astral Realm and back into his body—an urgency she'd never normally show.
But no matter how hard Triss tried, Murphy's consciousness remained fixed in the Astral Realm, completely unmoving.
That proved all of Triss's preparations had been useless—or, rather, that the creature Murphy had summoned was beyond the limits of the psychic power she could currently control.
"Your Grace! What kind of strange astral demigod is that?"
Lil Fu realized he'd triggered a "hidden event." He
