When the dignified voice rang out, a White Lotus glowing with spiritual light descended before Gu Qingshan.

Gu Qingshan stared at the White Lotus, somewhat dazed.

Another Celestial Maiden said, "This lotus is the Merit Fruit. It's responsible for calculating the Heavenly Lords' merit. Of course, Your merit is beyond measure, Heavenly Lord. The fruit only needs to prove that you are the Heavenly Lord of the Cloud Sea Realm."
The other Celestial Maidens burst into laughter.
For a moment, Gu Qingshan didn't reach out to take the White Lotus.
Standing on the enormous lotus seedpod beneath his feet, he said, "Um... could you help me calculate my Karma?"
The Merit Karma Cleansing Lotus slowly rose, a streak of black-and-red light circulating around it without end.
The Celestial Maidens grew nervous.
"Be careful, Heavenly Lord. Karma is a fearsome thing. Make sure it doesn't hurt you," one of the Celestial Maidens warned.
Gu Qingshan smiled. "Don't worry. I value my life."
A moment later,
a Black Lotus Seed suddenly leaped out of the seedpod and split open with a pop.
The dignified voice rang out again:
"This person slaughtered hundreds of millions of living beings and wiped out all life. His Karma is beyond measure."
All the Celestial Maidens froze.
This Heavenly Lord was truly strange. Why were both his merit and his Karma beyond measure?
What in the world had he done?
Gu Qingshan, however, silently nodded.
A moment later,
a Black Lotus descended from the sky and landed before him.
The Black Lotus and the White Lotus floated side by side in midair, motionless.
