The gramophone began playing softly.
The Red Brick House's door was already shut.
Xiao Die sat cross-legged on the sofa, chin propped in her hands as she studied Gu Qingshan without pause.
Gu Qingshan had no idea what was going on. "What is it?"
Xiao Die said slowly, "I was wondering—should I turn you into a fiend? That way, your power would enter a period of explosive growth."
"Are you worried that the people from the Evil Ghost World won't let me go?" Gu Qingshan asked.
Xiao Die sighed. "They just clashed with you, and then they died as soon as they left. Even if you have an alibi, the Evil Ghost World has an endless supply of methods. They could very well find some clues."
Gu Qingshan wasn't especially worried.
After all, he had taken care of Poison Elder's soul.
If the people from the Evil Ghost World had no evidence, they wouldn't dare to cause trouble in a place like Void City.
That left only small-scale assassinations.

So he leaned back in his chair and asked casually, "You can turn me into a fiend?"
Xiao Die thought he was tempted and replied eagerly, "I can not only turn you into a fiend, I can also let you change back into human form whenever you want, just like I do."
"Would my strength increase significantly?" Gu Qingshan pressed.
"At least twofold! Fiends are the products of laws mutating. Each one is unique and incredibly powerful!" Xiao Die said.
Gu Qingshan hesitated.
