The orange cat spent quite some time swimming all the way around the stone pillar.
The pillar was enormous.
Battle scenes carved into it looked lifelike, with all manner of beings arranged in a spiral climbing upward. At the very top, the God of Death battled that monster. The entire sculpture made you feel as if you were there, with all the grandeur and tumult of a world-shaking conflict.
But beyond that, there was nothing more to see.
Unwilling to give up, the orange cat sent out its divine sense and swept the area again and again, but still found nothing unusual.
The orange cat floated in the water, thinking quietly for a while.
This place was so well hidden. Could there really be not a single clue?
It looked up.
It saw countless openings in the black ceiling, all submerged in water and leading to who knew where.
The orange cat casually chose an opening, slipped inside, and swam straight ahead.
It arrived at an abandoned divine hall.
The hall was entirely submerged in the Underground River. Even the murals had grown blurry.
The orange cat retraced its path, randomly picked another opening in the black ceiling, and dived inside.
It arrived at another divine hall.
Although this hall was also submerged, it was intact.
Unfortunately, the hall was empty. The murals on the walls depicted a beastlike god in battle, but it was still impossible to tell who its enemy was.
The orange cat retreated once more.
Floating in the God of Death's divine hall, it examined the countless openings again.
So these were actually secret passages...
But there were far too many of them. Who knew how long it would take to explore them all?
