Dream Island.
The inn.
Long after Gu Qingshan had left.
Out in the corridor beyond the room, the big fat man in the green duckbill cap was still keeping watch.
A keyboard hung from his chest. Leaning against the wall beside the door, he took a big bite out of the apple in his hand.
"It's been so long. What kind of important guest is Brother Gu meeting?"
Dead Fatty wondered to himself.
—With a formation between them, he had no idea what was happening inside.
But Gu Qingshan had spoken with such gravity.
The man was no one to say things lightly.
—So it must be something important.
Dead Fatty confirmed this once more and put his mind at ease.
Just then, a gorgeous woman dressed to kill came down the corridor.
Dead Fatty took one look at her and rapidly tapped out a line on his keyboard: "Whistle—warning, this is the sound of seducing a beautiful woman."
His cap immediately let out a long whistle.
The woman seemed used to such reactions. She merely glared coldly at Dead Fatty.
"What are you doing outside Room 319?" the woman asked.
The fat man glanced at the room number beside him and hurriedly typed: "My friend has some business inside, so I came out to keep watch."
The woman nodded. "I'm the owner here. Room 319's rent is due."
The fat man froze and patted himself down.
He came from the River of Death and had been summoned. Before coming, he'd still been fighting those undead. The moment he was summoned, he'd fled as if his life depended on it. How could he have brought currency from the Living World?
He looked toward the door of Room 319.
The door was tightly shut, and not a sound came from inside.
