The man lightly leaped down onto the wooden plank.

He had a broad, sturdy build, a short beard on his chin, and bright, piercing eyes.

"Father..." Gu Qingshan said.

"Ah, it's been a long time, my child." The man grinned.

Gu Qingshan asked, "Back then, why did you and Mother—"

The man waved a hand, cutting him off. "I know what you want to ask, but it's a long story. Even the Historical Recorder beside you couldn't possibly record everything."

Gu Qingshan turned to look at the firework.

The firework shrugged. "Don't listen to him. My records are always quite professional."

Gu Qingshan turned his gaze back to his father.

Gu Ba snorted. "Is that so? Then why do you look like you're running out of steam?"

The firework explained, "Because Gu Qingshan has been through too much. I can't record everything, so I can only pick out the important parts—and history is far too complicated. With so many people around him, I don't have the time or energy to record everything about them, either."
