In the MonsterVerse, MUTOs were harmful creatures of nature. Whenever a new batch hatched, they became an invasive species, seriously disrupting the natural balance of the Titan world.
Godzilla's identity and role were exactly the opposite of the MUTOs'. He was the guardian of the natural order, defined as a guardian Titan who could coexist peacefully with nature and humanity.
So, to Godzilla, the MUTOs' appearance upset the ecological balance. He had to get ashore and stop them before they could threaten the Earth.
On top of that, the MUTOs threatened Godzilla himself.
The MUTOs and Godzilla had lived in the same era. They were ancient monsters that fed on radiation. Since Godzilla had organs capable of generating radiation, the MUTOs laid their eggs inside him. After hatching, the young killed their host. (The ancient Godzilla found in the Philippines had died after being parasitized by MUTO eggs.)
Godzilla pursued the MUTOs relentlessly to eliminate the threat to his own life. The MUTOs had been fated to fight Godzilla since ancient times. These enormous monsters were known as Godzilla's archenemies.
It was clear that the rivalry between Godzilla and the MUTOs had begun in ancient times. To counter Godzilla, the MUTO species had continually evolved a host of special abilities.
For example, the MUTOs' claws and teeth could easily pierce Godzilla's heavy armor and draw blood.
Their electromagnetic pulses could also affect Godzilla's atomic breath.
The male MUTO's electromagnetic pulse suppressed the ignition of Godzilla's breath, preventing him from using his atomic breath. The female MUTO's electromagnetic shielding, on the other hand, weakened its power.
That was why Godzilla was currently on the back foot yet hadn't used his trump card, the atomic breath.
So, even though the MUTOs were much smaller and lighter than Godzilla, they weren't at a
