When the Great Wu Empire waged wars of conquest, it generally dealt with the natives living on newly occupied lands in one of two ways.

The first was to wipe out all the male natives and leave only the women.

This was often done on outlying islands, such as the many islands in the Empire's South Seas. There, the imperial army openly slaughtered the male natives, even offering rewards for doing so. The campaign continued until not a single local man remained on the island and everyone was Han Chinese.

Of course, if the island was large and had too many natives to wipe out, like Luzon Island, the policy changed. The natives would instead be captured and taken back as slaves.

The other approach was used when the mainland natives were quick to read the situation and rushed to surrender. In such cases, the Empire could hardly slaughter them, so it mainly took control of the local economy and gradually integrated them through intermarriage between the Han and the local natives.

Local officials also had to be of Han descent. What's more, these regions received no special privileges. For example, the Homestead Act did not apply to them; if they wanted to benefit from it, they had to have Han blood.

Did I conquer this land just to let people of other bloodlines use it?

What kind of sense does that make!

Compared with the John Bull of the real world, who called himself the "Empire on which the sun never sets," the white people of John Bull were an extremely arrogant race. They held themselves above everyone else and refused to intermarry with the natives. The Great Wu Empire, on the other hand, strongly encouraged intermarriage with the natives in order to assimilate them
