Hao Shuai sat at the head of the table. On either side of him sat Peggy Carter, the secretary-general, Iron Man Tony, the Hulk Banner, Captain America Steve Rogers, a Maya man, and a Black young man in his twenties.
"Ahem. All right, let's get this meeting started," Hao Shuai said solemnly. "This is the first meeting since we founded the Avengers."
"You may not all know one another yet, so I'll introduce everyone."
Hao Shuai started with Peggy Carter, the secretary-general, then introduced Cap, Iron Man, and the Hulk.
Finally, he pointed to the Maya man and the Black young man. "These two are Namor, king of the underwater kingdom of Talokan—you can call him Aquaman—and T'Challa, prince of Wakanda, whose codename is Black Panther."
That's right!
Aquaman Namor and the next Black Panther, T'Challa.
As for how Namor ended up here and joined the Avengers—
It was naturally because he loved humanity and wanted to do his part to protect the Earth~~
Uh, well~~ Saying he loved humanity really was pushing it.
They were both "Aquaman," but Marvel's Namor and DC's Arthur next door were worlds apart in temperament and outlook.
Arthur had been raised by humans on land from childhood. After becoming Aquaman, he devoted himself to peaceful coexistence between Atlantis and humanity. He'd never thought of invading the mainland or anything like that.
Namor, on the other hand, was a born member of the sea folk. He felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility toward his people, and because of what they'd suffered in the past, he was even willing to go to war with humanity.
Someone like that could never willingly step forward to protect humans.
