Hao Shuai had successfully fooled—no, successfully recruited them. Meanwhile, Cap and his good buddy Bucky were still having a grand old time beating each other up.
Mm~~
Well, saying they were having a grand old time wasn't quite accurate. More precisely, Cap was getting beaten up single-handedly.
After all, Cap couldn't bring himself to hit Bucky too hard, but Bucky was still brainwashed and didn't recognize the Cap standing before him. He was pounding Cap relentlessly.
Helpless, Cap could only take the beating while repeatedly calling Bucky's name, trying to jog his memory.
Hao Shuai had been reluctant to interrupt this scene of two good buddies fighting out their love for each other, but if he left them alone, he was genuinely afraid they'd keep going all day.
The problem was, it was getting late, and he still had to get home for dinner.
Even if Hao Shuai didn't need to eat, the Maximoff siblings beside him were still growing. He couldn't let them go hungry.
So, when Bucky had Cap pinned in a position that was practically impossible to escape from, Hao Shuai kindly asked, "Um~ I really don't want to interrupt you, but it's getting late~~"
"Um~ Sorry for the trouble, but could you wait a little longer~~ I'll be done soon," Cap said, summoning all his strength to pry Bucky's hand open. Then he sprang to his feet, flipped around, and pinned Bucky to the ground.
In the blink of an eye, the two had switched roles.
"All right~~ I hope you two hurry up," Hao Shuai said with a shrug.
"I will~~" Cap hadn't even finished speaking when Bucky elbowed him backward, grabbed his head, and threw him over his shoulder. He landed on top of Cap and clamped his mechanical arm around Cap's neck.
