"Didn't you hear me? Put your guns down! I said, put your guns down!" Adolf, with a gun pointed at his head, hurriedly ordered the mercenaries.

"No need!" Mark raised a hand and ordered his men to stand down.

Unfortunately, the mercenary leader Mark was unmoved by Jack's threat and Adolf's angry reprimand. He looked like he was saying, Go ahead and kill him if you want.

Seeing Mark's expression, Jack knew he'd lost his gamble. With no other choice, he threw his gun to the ground and surrendered again.

Maybe Jack hadn't held out much hope for this gamble from the start. He was an explorer who had traveled far and wide and seen all kinds of people and things. He knew that relationships built solely on money would fall apart when more money was offered. Besides, this time it was 240 tons of gold. Even brothers would probably turn against each other over that.

Jack knew it wouldn't work, but he still took a chance because he wanted to stay alive. He knew that once the mercenaries found all the gold, they would have no further use for him. Death would be his only option.

Unfortunately, Jack didn't know that Hao Shuai, an overpowered cheat, was standing nearby. It would be hard for them to die even if they wanted to.

"There's still a lot of gold beyond the passage. If you don't kill me, I'll take you there and help you find it all."

Adolf, who had lived for six or seven decades and fought in wars, understood from Mark's expression that he was no longer useful. He hurriedly tried to talk his way out of trouble.

"I doubt you can pull any tricks on us. Kid, you're coming with us. The rest of you, carry the gold out." Mark pointed at Jack.

With no choice, Jack followed Mark toward the passage behind them.

Adolf gave Hao Shuai a look, then casually glanced at a red lever on the wall.

Hao Shuai gave a slight nod to show he understood.

As soon as Jack and the other two entered the passage, Hao Shuai sprang into action. He kicked the mercenary standing by the door, then pulled down the red switch.

With a loud rumble, both gates leading to the room where the gold was stored slammed shut. The mercenaries were trapped inside, while Jack, Mark, and one of Mark's men were shut out on the other side of the gate.

"What do we do now, Adolf?" Hao Shuai asked in a low voice.

"There's a control room upstairs. Push me up there so we can see how Asian Hawk is doing." Adolf pointed to a staircase as he explained.

Hao Shuai knew that Brother Long, with his God of Furniture attribute, was invincible anywhere there was an object to use, even if he'd get beaten up pretty badly. So he wasn't worried about Jack's safety at all. He just wanted to sit back and watch the show.

"Ada, push Adolf upstairs first. I'll see if there's another way out," Hao Shuai instructed.

After Ada and the others pushed Adolf away, Hao Shuai opened the gate and walked inside.

The mercenaries were frantically searching for an exit. When they saw the door suddenly open and Hao Shuai walk in, they all raised their guns and fired wildly, afraid that if they failed to kill him, he would shut the door again.

When the shooting stopped, the mercenaries saw an unbelievable sight: countless bullets floated in front of Hao Shuai, as if time had stopped before him. They all stared at him as if they'd seen a ghost.

Hao Shuai couldn't be bothered to waste words. He moved his mind, and the bullets floating in front of him instantly shot back out. Every mercenary was hit and killed.

After taking care of the cannon fodder, Hao Shuai stored all the gold in his space. He wasn't in a hurry to find Adolf and the others, though. Instead, he began exploring the room.

It was clearly being used as the base's storeroom. The room was enormous, and the 240 tons of gold occupied only a small part of it. The rest was packed with all kinds of famous German weapons and equipment, such as MP 40 submachine guns and MG 42 machine guns. There was enough to arm a light infantry division.

Looking at the well-preserved weapons and ammunition, Hao Shuai realized how foolish he'd been. He'd been so focused on the gold that he'd almost let these weapons slip through his fingers.

He should have thought of this sooner. With these weapons, he could go to any ancient world and get whatever he wanted. He could even take over the whole world.

Once he'd figured that out, Hao Shuai began storing all the weapons and gasoline in his space. He didn't even leave behind the aerial bombs in the room ahead. He might not have a plane, but wasn't he a bomber himself?

When Hao Shuai finished stripping the place bare and arrived at the control room, Peach and the other two were leaning over the observation window, looking down. Adolf was operating the control panel nearby.

Hao Shuai went to the observation window too. With Adolf's help, Jack was playing "flying Superman" and beating the crap out of Mark and his man. The scene was so hilarious that Hao Shuai nearly burst out laughing.

In the end, the two unfortunate men were trapped behind an exhaust fan, and Brother Long once again defended his title as the God of Furniture.

Seeing Jack celebrating his victory and the three women upstairs wiggling their hips, Hao Shuai couldn't take it anymore. He picked up the microphone and shouted, "Stop messing around! The base is about to explode. Hurry up and get up here!"

Jack arrived in the control room a little later. Looking at the countdown on the control panel, he asked in confusion, "Why is the base about to explode?"

"Uh... We were worried about you and wanted to help. We didn't know which button to press, so we just pressed some at random. Then we hit the self-destruct button." Ada and Elsa stood at the very back, behaving like frightened quails.

Jack glanced helplessly at the two of them but couldn't be bothered to lecture them. This wasn't the first time they'd gotten him into trouble on the trip.

"What do we do now?" With no idea what else to do, Jack looked to Adolf, who knew the base best.

"The only way is to blast through the air shaft in the laboratory. That's the weakest point in the base." Adolf pointed at the opening above the laboratory.

"Oh... Use the air current?" Jack said, suddenly understanding.

Jack spent ten minutes climbing up to the opening and setting the explosives. Meanwhile, Hao Shuai and the others packed up the box of gold outside the gate, preparing to take it with them. Luckily, they thought there were still mercenaries inside and didn't dare open the gate. Otherwise, they would have found it completely empty.

When they were ready, Ada said, "Adolf refuses to leave."

"I'm not leaving. I should have died forty years ago. I want to be with my old friends. I'm staying here. Goodbye." Adolf's lonely voice came through the microphone.

Adolf was determined to stay, and there was nothing Hao Shuai and the others could do about it. They could only make their way to the air shaft, grab their respective boxes of gold, and hold on tight. Hao Shuai and Jack also had two boxes hanging around their necks.

Just then, the base's alarm began blaring. Adolf switched on the fan, and as the wind grew stronger, Jack and the others were blown hard against the wall, their faces contorted. The gold in their hands scattered across the ground. Only Hao Shuai held firmly onto his four boxes of gold.

BOOM! When the wind reached its strongest, Jack detonated the explosives at the air shaft, opening the air vent.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Jack and the other three were immediately blown out through the ventilation shaft. Hao Shuai was still down below because he was carrying too much weight, but he hadn't planned on letting the wind blow him out anyway. He simply flew out with the gold.

After leaving the base, Hao Shuai pretended to be at a loss as he descended from the sky. Jack was already waiting for him.

"Hurry over! Everyone take a box of gold and run! This place is going to collapse!" Hao Shuai didn't want Jack and the others asking too many questions. He handed them a box each, took the two boxes from around his neck, and led the way.

Jack and the others took the gold and ran after Hao Shuai without stopping to think about it.

After running a few hundred meters, Hao Shuai and the others stopped and turned to watch. A loud rumble came from behind them, and soon the entire sand dune collapsed.

"Now no one will ever find the gold!" Ada murmured.

"At least we didn't come all this way for nothing, right?" Hao Shuai patted the box on the ground.

Jack and the others had planned to return the gold to Hao Shuai. After all, he'd risked his life to bring it out. But Hao Shuai said he didn't need the money; he went on adventures just for the thrill. He gave each of them a box of gold and kept two for himself.

With a box of gold each, Jack and the others hadn't come all this way for nothing. The adventure had been worth it.

On the way back, Hao Shuai provided water from time to time, while Peach led the way. They didn't have to suffer like they had in the movie, and soon they were out of the desert and back in Spain.

After arriving in Spain, Hao Shuai told Jack he had something to take care of at home and needed to return to China.

After saying goodbye to everyone, Hao Shuai went into an empty alley and disappeared from that world.
