One morning, Thirteenth Aunt came over to help Hao Shuai change his dressing. During their chat, she learned that Wong Fei Hung had been invited by an American merchant, Jackson, to watch a play at the riverside stage that day. Since she had to tend to Hao Shuai, she hadn't gone along.
As expected, by the time they finished changing his dressing and headed to Baozhilin for breakfast, Wong Fei Hung had already left for his appointment. After breakfast, Hao Shuai picked up a medical book to read, while Thirteenth Aunt went back to fiddling with her camera.
As noon approached, Wong Fei Hung suddenly returned with many patients suffering from gunshot wounds. A crowd of yamen runners and soldiers had also gathered at the entrance. It seemed that, just like in the plot, Jackson had indeed arranged for Wong Fei Hung to be assassinated, leading to British soldiers firing and injuring innocent civilians. Wong Fei Hung pleaded with Admiral Zheng to let him take the injured back to Baozhilin for treatment.
Admiral Zheng agreed to Wong Fei Hung's request but simultaneously dispatched men to surround Baozhilin, preventing Wong Fei Hung from escaping.
Inside Baozhilin, it was packed with civilians injured at the opera house. The sounds of moans and cries were heart-wrenching. Wong Fei Hung, along with Hao Shuai, Yat Che So, Ling Wan Kai, and others, were busy stopping the bleeding and bandaging the wounded, in a state of utter chaos.
During this time, Wong Fei Hung discovered an uncle who had returned from Jinshan. The uncle recounted his tragic experiences, making Wong Fei Hung and the others understand that the so-called Jinshan overseas was a scam to lure Chinese people into becoming coolies and mining. Unfortunately, Wong Fei Hung was in no position to help him at the moment, so he could only comfort the uncle, promising to treat him first and then find a way to reunite him with his family later.
Everyone worked until evening before finishing with all the patients. After having dinner at Baozhilin, Hao Shuai returned to his own house to continue practicing the Golden Bell Shield Iron Cloth Shirt.
Originally, according to the plot, Yan Zhendong would have come to challenge them with Leung Kwan after dinner. However, thanks to Hao Shuai's generous contributions, Yan Zhendong was living quite comfortably now, unlike in the plot where he was so destitute he couldn't even afford to eat noodles and had to drink others' leftover soup. At this point, Yan Zhendong had opened his own martial arts school, taken two concubines, and was busy with procreation, so he had no time to come and challenge them.
Knowing that Admiral Zheng intended to seal off Baozhilin, Wong Fei Hung was currently arranging for Yat Che So, Chiu Pork Wing, and others to leave Baozhilin. Admiral Zheng, leading a large contingent of men, stormed in, intending to capture the militia and Wong Fei Hung's group in one fell swoop.
Wong Fei Hung quickly told Yat Che So and Thirteenth Aunt to take the uncle and climb over the wall to escape. He himself, along with Chiu Pork Wing and Ling Wan Kai, engaged the soldiers to buy time for Thirteenth Aunt and the others to flee. Only when the foreign rifle squad among the soldiers arrived did the three of them obediently surrender.
On the other side, as Thirteenth Aunt, Yat Che So, and Uncle Jinshan had just escaped Baozhilin and were planning to run to Hao Shuai's house, they ran into Boss Hong and his gang, who were roaming around looking for lone women, before they even left the alley.
Although Thirteenth Aunt managed to shoot Boss Hong in the arm with her foreign gun, it was to no avail. Thirteenth Aunt was captured by the Shahe Gang. And to protect Thirteenth Aunt, the uncle was brutally beaten to death by Boss Hong and his men with their foreign guns. Only Yat Che So, as in the plot, cleverly seized an opportunity to escape. However, unlike in the plot, in his panic, Yat Che So, while escaping, fell into a drainage ditch and passed out.
When Yat Che So woke up, he didn't know how much time had passed. The sky was already beginning to lighten. He rushed back to Baozhilin, intending to find his Master and the others to save Thirteenth Aunt. But Baozhilin had already been sealed off by the soldiers, and Wong Fei Hung, Chiu Pork Wing, and the others had all been thrown into prison.
Without stopping to catch his breath, Yat Che So rushed to Hao Shuai's house. When Hao Shuai heard what had happened from Yat Che So, he was stunned.
Hao Shuai had known that Baozhilin would be sealed off that night and Wong Fei Hung and the others would be imprisoned, which was why he had left earlier, fearing he would be caught in the net. If he were caught, no one would be able to bail Wong Fei Hung and the others out.
Even if Thirteenth Aunt and Yat Che So would escape with the uncle, they shouldn't have run to the American's dock warehouse as in the movie and been captured by the Shahe Gang.
After all, Hao Shuai was right next door to Baozhilin. Thirteenth Aunt should have taken them to Hao Shuai's house to hide temporarily, and Thirteenth Aunt wouldn't have been in danger like in the movie.
Who knew that Thirteenth Aunt and the others would be so unlucky as to run into the Shahe Gang the moment they left Baozhilin? Yat Che So had also fallen into a ditch while escaping and had only come to report now.
Now, because Yat Che So had fainted, an unknown amount of time had been wasted. If Hao Shuai couldn't get there in time to save Thirteenth Aunt, and Thirteenth Aunt were to be...
Thinking of this, Hao Shuai felt like his head was about to sprout a vast Hulunbuir grassland. A sentence echoed in his mind: "If you want life to go smoothly, you need a little green on your head!"
Hao Shuai quickly shook his head, immediately telling Yat Che So to go to the prison and notify Wong Fei Hung. He also stopped hiding and flew directly towards the dock warehouse.
When Hao Shuai found Thirteenth Aunt in the warehouse, he saw that her hands were tied to the head of the bed, and she was struggling desperately. Fortunately, her clothes were still intact. Boss Hong was pinching her mouth, trying to force something down her throat, saying, "Stinky woman, how dare you shoot me and injure my arm, forcing me to have surgery to remove the bullet. Too bad, even with one hand incapacitated, I have plenty of ways to torment you. After you finish this bowl of medicine, hehe! You'll be the one begging me!"
It was good that he arrived in time!
If he had been even a little later, it might have been a different story.
A tragedy!
Hao Shuai kicked open the warehouse door and rushed in, kicking Boss Hong flying. He then went forward, untied Thirteenth Aunt's ropes, and hugged her, saying, "Shao Jun, are you alright!"
"Thirteenth Aunt, who had already despaired, suddenly saw Hao Shuai appear before her like a god. The tension in her mind relaxed, and she fainted.
Seeing Thirteenth Aunt faint, Hao Shuai hugged her and flew back home. However, before leaving, he squeezed the still-howling Boss Hong on the ground into a meatball. It was estimated that anyone who came here later would not want to eat meatballs.
Back home, as soon as he placed Thirteenth Aunt on the bed, he noticed that her complexion had inexplicably turned a flushed red.
Hao Shuai quickly took her pulse. Combining it with Boss Hong's lewd demeanor when he rescued Thirteenth Aunt, he understood that Thirteenth Aunt had been given an aphrodisiac!
Damn it!
This Boss Hong was really playing dirty! Knowing that one of his hands was injured, he wanted to turn the tables and become the aggressor!
"Ah Shuai, I'm so hot!" At this moment, Thirteenth Aunt had woken up, but she was a little disoriented. Sensing the man's presence beside her, she instinctively began to move closer to Hao Shuai.
Seeing Thirteenth Aunt like this, Hao Shuai, a gentleman, was in a dilemma: Should he take off his own clothes first? Or should he take off Thirteenth Aunt's clothes first?
As Hao Shuai was agonizing over this, Thirteenth Aunt, under the influence of the drug, took off her own clothes, solving Hao Shuai's dilemma.
Looking at the scene, Hao Shuai quickly removed his clothes and lowered the bed curtain.
Meanwhile, after receiving the news of Thirteenth Aunt's capture, Wong Fei Hung, usually calm and collected, could no longer sit still. However, he was also imprisoned at the moment and powerless. Fortunately, at this time, the prison guards had some conscience and decided to let him go privately to save her.
When Wong Fei Hung arrived at the dock warehouse, after a fight, he finally killed Jackson and rescued the abducted women. The process was smoother than in the movie, as the expert Yan Zhendong was absent.
Unable to find Thirteenth Aunt in the warehouse, and combining it with the meatball that could barely be recognized as Boss Hong's corpse, Wong Fei Hung guessed that Hao Shuai had already rescued her, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
After dealing with everything, the sky was already beginning to brighten. Dawn had arrived.
The next morning, Hao Shuai woke up, rubbing his sleepy eyes – looking at the celestial beauty of Thirteenth Aunt in his arms.
His mood instantly brightened considerably!
Hao Shuai carefully tried to pull his arm out from under his neck when he saw Thirteenth Aunt staring at him with her large, cute eyes.
"Shao Jun, you're awake! Last night's events are all my fault..." Hao Shuai was about to explain. Although Thirteenth Aunt had been the one to initiate last night, as a man, he should take responsibility now.
"Ah Shuai, you don't need to say anything. I know what happened last night. Thank you for saving me," Thirteenth Aunt said.
"Shao Jun, you've known me for so long, you should know my feelings for you! The moment I saw you on the ship, I fell in love with you, loving you with all my heart." Hao Shuai confessed directly.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you, just like this, waking up with you every day, watching the sunrise together, traveling all over the country and abroad, and welcoming each new day together! Will you?"
Thirteenth Aunt recalled the bits and pieces since meeting Hao Shuai and his repeated life-saving grace. Finally, looking at Hao Shuai with tender affection, she nodded, reached out to touch Hao Shuai's face, and said sweetly, "I will!"
But none of that mattered now. Hao Shuai didn't think about Zhang Ailing's words anymore. Instead, he held Thirteenth Aunt tightly and poured out all the sweet words he had accumulated over the years of cultivation. Thirteenth Aunt was so dazed by the sweetness that she had no power to resist, her face full of happiness as if she had eaten honey.
Indeed, every woman loves to hear sweet talk – regardless of beauty or era!
