In another deserted alley, Hao Shuai's figure flickered into existence.
He glanced around, found no surveillance, straightened his collar, and calmly walked out of the alley.
Hao Shuai first went to a pawn shop, as usual, to exchange for some cash. Then, he bought a newspaper from a street vendor. After reading it, he found no reports about Wesley, which meant the supermarket shootout from the plot hadn't happened yet.
Hao Shuai had entered the world of Wanted, also known as the Assassin's Alliance. The main plot revolves around Wesley, an ordinary office worker whose life is a meaningless cycle of enduring his obese boss's nagging, his best friend sleeping with his girlfriend, and constantly needing medication to control his racing heart. One day, he's saved from assassins by a mysterious woman and enters the world of the Assassin's Alliance. His savior, Fox, and the organization's leader, Sloan, inform Wesley that his father, who abandoned him years ago, was also a member of the organization and was recently killed by a traitor named Cross. Wesley must quickly grow through rigorous training to protect himself and even avenge his father.
Under the strict training of Fox and the leader Sloan, Wesley not only unlocked his astonishing inherited potential but quickly became an unparalleled killer, undertaking death missions assigned by the organization. However, nothing seemed as simple as it appeared. He eventually killed the man who murdered his father, only to discover that the man, before dying, claimed to be Wesley's father! Ultimately, Wesley uncovered the truth about the so-called Loom of Fate and began his perfect revenge against the Alliance.
Of course, Hao Shuai wasn't interested in the love-hate drama of the plot. Hao Shuai had only one goal in entering the world of Wanted: to learn the technique of making bullets curve.
The first time Hao Shuai watched the movie, he was stunned by this gun skill that could make bullets curve. To understand the principle behind it, Hao Shuai had even searched for a lot of information online, but unfortunately, it was all useless. This became a lingering question for Hao Shuai, and now that he had the chance to resolve it, he naturally came to figure it out.
Plus, he could also learn the incredible gun skills here, saving him from always using Psychic Power for killing, which was inconvenient in places with surveillance.
If he wanted to learn gun skills, Hao Shuai would naturally seek out Cross, the one with the best technique.
Cross's Art of the Ricocheting Bullet was not only unpredictable but his long-range sniping skills were unparalleled in this world, making him the undisputed King of Assassins!
Even Sloan said that in this world, besides Wesley, there was no one he couldn't kill!
What Hao Shuai needed to do now was find Cross. The assassination at the beginning of the movie took place in the Metropolis Building, while Cross performed his remote sniping from home. Therefore, Cross should be within a few kilometers of the Metropolis Building.
Adding to that, he knew Cross lived opposite Wesley's apartment, and a subway line passed by Wesley's home.
With these conditions, it would be easier for Hao Shuai to find him. Hao Shuai first took a taxi to the Metropolis Building. After getting out, he got into another taxi and told the driver, "I'm looking for a friend. I only know he lives not far from the Metropolis Building, in an old house, and a subway passes by every day."
"Sir, that makes it difficult for me to work," the driver refused.
"Double the fare if you find my friend!"
"Of course, sir. Happy to serve you." The driver's attitude changed instantly.
After several hours, he finally saw an old residential building similar to the one in the movie on William Street. Hao Shuai paid the fare and got out of the car, walking straight to a similarly old white house opposite the old building.
Hao Shuai's target for this trip was inside!
The King of Assassins, Cross, that perverted voyeur, had been spying on his son for over twenty years. He wondered if he watched his son play cards with his girlfriend? Maybe he could find an opportunity to ask?
Right now, the father who hid near his son, silently watching him, lived here!
Hao Shuai went straight up and knocked on the door. Luckily, Cross wasn't out today.
The door opened, and seeing the somewhat familiar middle-aged white man before him, Hao Shuai knew he hadn't come to the wrong place.
Cross saw a handsome, sun-tanned Chinese man he didn't recognize at the door. His eyes were filled with vigilance and caution. His body appeared relaxed, but his muscles were tensed, ready to act at any moment.
He scrutinized Hao Shuai, noticing the man's smiling demeanor and seemingly harmless appearance.
Cross secretly breathed a sigh of relief but didn't lower his guard.
"Young man, who are you? I don't know you!"
Seeing that Cross didn't recognize him, he was about to close the door.
"You don't know me, but I know you!" Seeing the door closing, Hao Shuai stuck his foot in to block it and said friendly to Cross, "King of Assassins - Cross!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a dark handgun appeared in Cross's right hand, and he quickly fired a shot at Hao Shuai's forehead.
The bullet stopped moving when it was still five centimeters away from Hao Shuai's forehead.
Cross instinctively fired several more shots until he emptied the magazine.
Hao Shuai used his Psychic Power to stop all the bullets and collect them. Then, he used his Psychic Power to pin Cross to the floor, walked into the room, closed the door, and said helplessly to Cross, who was struggling fiercely on the floor, "I say, do all you assassins have paranoia? You start shooting the moment you meet someone."
"At least figure out if I'm friend or foe before shooting! Can we talk properly now? Nod if you can."
Cross nodded after Hao Shuai finished speaking. He now understood that if Hao Shuai had intended to kill him, he wouldn't have wasted his breath.
After Cross nodded, Hao Shuai released his suppression but still set up a layer of Psychic Power around himself.
Who knew if these assassins' brains worked normally.
Safety first!
After being released, Cross got up and asked in a deep, furrowed voice, "Who exactly are you? Why do you know my identity, and how did you do that just now?"
Hao Shuai strolled around the room, looking at Cross's home, then cleared his throat and said, "My name is Hao Shuai, I'm from Huaxia. I not only know your identity but also know about the Alliance and Sloan, and even why you and the Alliance are enemies?"
Cross was stunned, looking at Hao Shuai in disbelief and exclaimed, "You, you know even this?"
"What's so strange about that?" Hao Shuai walked to the window and looked across, continuing, "I even know you're a voyeur who's been spying on your son for over twenty years."
"As for how I blocked the bullets and suppressed you just now, you can just think of it as a superpower!"
Cross remained in shock. Hao Shuai was too mysterious, as if he knew everything, and possessed that magical superpower.
Cross stared at Hao Shuai for a long time before recovering and saying, "Since you know everything, what do you want from me?!"
Hao Shuai looked at Cross and said earnestly, "I came to you because I want to learn gun skills, specifically the technique of making bullets curve and your long-range sniping ability."
Cross looked at Hao Shuai's serious expression and asked doubtfully, "You already have superpowers, why do you still want to learn gun skills? And why should I help you?"
Hao Shuai pondered for a moment, then finally said, "Cross, I only learned gunmanship because I was interested, to fulfill a small wish of my own. As long as you teach me gunmanship, I can help you flatten the Alliance. That way, you can acknowledge your son and give him a better life, instead of him being the complete failure he is now – broke and wearing a massive cuckold's hat!"
"You...!"
Cross's eyes narrowed, and he instantly became furious. If he hadn't known he couldn't defeat Hao Shuai, he would have loved to shoot Hao Shuai with the gun in his hand.
Damn it!
Don't they say you shouldn't hit someone when they're down or bring up their sore spots when you're scolding them!!
Even though Wesley's life was truly miserable! He was timid, his job was unsatisfactory, and worst of all, his only friend had teamed up with his bitch girlfriend to give him a huge green hat!
As a father, even Cross, who killed without batting an eye, felt immense heartache seeing Wesley living such a pathetic life!
He had wanted to acknowledge Wesley as his son countless times, but he couldn't!
He didn't dare!
Once the Assassin's Alliance found out, it would bring a death sentence upon Wesley!
Therefore, Cross could only grit his teeth and endure. Before he could completely take down Sloan and dismantle the Alliance, he had to bear it for Wesley's safety!
It could be said that Wesley's current life was Cross's greatest pain point.
Now, Hao Shuai had just poked that pain point right in front of Cross, so how could Cross not be enraged!
Cross stared at Hao Shuai, gritting his teeth, the gun in his hand twitching, ready to fight at the slightest provocation.
Hao Shuai was not to be outdone, glaring back at Cross and saying, "What? Am I wrong? Or are you not convinced?"
After a long while, Cross's anger subsided, replaced by a look of submission. He said, "Fine! You win! I can teach you."
Cross indicated that the reason he didn't dare to shoot wasn't cowardice, but because Hao Shuai was using his Psychic Power to hold his gun up, preventing him from raising it.
Upon hearing Cross agree, Hao Shuai released his hold and extended his right hand, saying, "A wise choice! You won't regret it."
Then, their two hands grasped each other.
