At the foot of Taishi Mountain in Songshan, there was a very prosperous market town.
In the market town, there was a main street leading to Taishi Mountain.
This street was bustling with merchants, making it quite lively.
Hao Shuai sat on the second floor of a restaurant in town, leisurely drinking wine, eating snacks, and admiring the antique charm of the market town.
Five days had passed since the Golden Basin Hand-Washing Ceremony, and Liu Zhengfeng's family and Qu Yang had already set sail.
The reason they were able to set sail so smoothly was mainly because among the righteous sects, the Songshan School, upon learning that Hao Shuai was heading towards Songshan, was fully occupied with preparing to deal with him and had no time to bother with Liu Zhengfeng. As for other sects like the Mount Hua Sect, they wouldn't dare to trouble them for fear of offending Hao Shuai. As for the Sun Moon Holy Cult, Qu Yang was an elder himself, and ordinary members had no right to punish him, while the Cult Leader Dongfang Bubai hadn't given any orders, so they could only watch Qu Yang sail away.
Hao Shuai stayed in Hengyang for a day, secretly escorting Liu Zhengfeng's family away from Hengyang. After repaying the favor for the musical score, he headed all the way to Songshan in Henan.
Originally, Hao Shuai expected to encounter various ambushes and schemes from the Songshan School along the way, but to his surprise, the journey was exceptionally smooth.
Hao Shuai estimated that Zuo Lengchan intended to concentrate all his forces, relying on the strategic advantage of Songshan, to fight him to the death.
Hao Shuai was happy to oblige and even deliberately slowed his pace, allowing the Songshan School to successfully recall their people. This way, Hao Shuai could catch them all in one go, saving him the trouble of making multiple trips.
"Did you hear? That Demon Lord is heading to Songshan. It looks like the Songshan School is in trouble," said a nameless extra on the second floor of the restaurant.
"Your news is outdated! I heard the Demon Lord is already on Songshan!" said another nameless extra.
"Who do you think will win this time, the Demon Lord or the Songshan School?"
"Who do you think is more skilled, the Demon Lord or Dongfang Bubai?"
"I heard that the Mount Hua Sect's eldest disciple, Linghu Chong, was caught by Sect Leader Yue at a brothel and was punished to reflect on the Cliff of Repentance for a year."
"Is the Demon Lord really as rumored, with arms so wide a horse could gallop through them and thighs so broad a cart could drive across, killing like flies, as if a fierce god had returned to the world?"
Hao Shuai listened to the rumors about himself, and the further he listened, the more outrageous they became. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the naming conventions of martial artists. He felt they should at least come up with something like "Jade Flute Divine Sword" or "Jade-Faced Gentleman," and not just call him "Demon Lord" out of laziness! Also, with so many people present at the time, anyone with eyes could see his handsome face, so why were such unreliable rumors spreading?
And Linghu Chong, it seemed, was indeed going to the Cliff of Repentance as in the plot. That made sense too; with his carefree personality, and a master like Yue Buqun, who was so traditional and old-fashioned, he was bound to be punished sooner or later.
After listening to the so-called gossip, Hao Shuai paid his bill and returned to his room to rest! He planned to directly attack the Songshan School tomorrow.
Songshan, anciently known as "Waifang," was called "Songgao" during the Xia and Shang dynasties, and "Yueshan" in the Western Zhou dynasty. With Songshan as the central mountain, flanked by Dai to the left and Hua to the right, Songshan was designated as the Central Sacred Mountain, and thus began to be called "Central Sacred Mountain Songshan."
On Songshan, there were two famous martial arts sects: the "Shaolin Temple," the ancestral home of Chan Buddhism on Shaoshi Mountain, and the "Songshan School," one of the Five Great Sword Sects on Taishi Mountain.
Both sects were pillars of the righteous path, with Shaolin holding the highest status. Master Fangzheng, the abbot of Shaolin, was hailed as the foremost expert of the righteous path.
Zuo Lengchan, the sect leader of the Songshan Sword Sect, was also one of the three great experts of the righteous path, ranking just below Master Fangzheng of Shaolin and Daoist Master Chongxu of Wudang.
More than a decade ago, the Five Great Sword Sects formed an alliance to deal with the Sun Moon Holy Cult, the foremost demonic sect. With Zuo Lengchan as the alliance leader, the confrontation between the righteous and demonic paths officially began.
Over the years, the Five Great Sword Sects had clashed with the Sun Moon Holy Cult numerous times, with the Songshan School engaging them the most, serving as the vanguard of the righteous path.
Through these encounters, the Songshan School produced many experts, such as the "Thirteen Protectors," who gained renown throughout the martial world. With the assistance of the Thirteen Protectors, Zuo Lengchan's Songshan School gradually overshadowed Shaolin and Wudang in reputation. As the sect leader, Zuo Lengchan's ambition grew, harboring a desire to unite the Five Great Sword Sects and merge them into one.
At this moment, in the assembly hall of the Songshan School, Zuo Lengchan sat at the head of the table, with Vice Sect Leader Tang Ying'e and the Thirteen Protectors, except for Fei Bin and Ding Mian, seated on either side.
"Ying'e, how are the arrangements at the checkpoints along the way?" Zuo Lengchan asked.
"Sect Leader Brother, rest assured! I have set up numerous traps on the necessary routes up the mountain, such as Xian Yi Tian, and have dispatched many skilled guards. Not even a fly can get through."
"Very good. That so-called Demon Lord dares to openly challenge our Songshan School, so we will make sure he never returns. His blood will pave the way for my unification of the Five Great Sword Sects," Zuo Lengchan said with a smug smile.
"Sect Leader Brother is wise!" *the crowd exclaimed.
Just then, four peculiar metallic objects, the size of sweet potatoes, flew in from the main entrance. Zhong Zhen, the Nine-Bend Sword, and Deng Bagong, the Divine Whip, two of the later Thirteen Protectors, leaped forward and each grabbed two. Before they could speak, Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Four consecutive explosions rang out. Everyone in the hall was caught in the vortex of the explosions. Lu Bai, He Ying, and others who were closer were instantly killed. Only Zuo Lengchan, Tang Ying'e, and Le Hou, who were seated at the head of the table, managed to escape the blast by using their Lightness Skills, but they were still hit by several shrapnel fragments and severely injured.
At this moment, a handsome young man walked in through the main entrance. It was Hao Shuai. He entered the hall with a handgun in each hand, casually strolling in. Along the way, he occasionally fired at the corpses on the ground or at people, just in case they launched a final counterattack.
By the time Hao Shuai stood before Zuo Lengchan, only two people were left gasping for breath in the entire assembly hall.
Seeing Hao Shuai standing brazenly before him, Zuo Lengchan roared in anger, channeling all his power, activating all the Ice True Qi within his body, and lunged forward, clapping his hands towards Hao Shuai. Instantly, cold air spread through the void, and the air began to freeze.
Crack!
Crack!
Unfortunately, no matter how fast Zuo Lengchan was, he couldn't outrun bullets. Hao Shuai fired two shots, directly piercing Zuo Lengchan's hands. The true qi that Zuo Lengchan had painstakingly activated was dispersed, and he fell to the floor.
"Who are you? Why did you launch such a vicious sneak attack on our Songshan School?"
Zuo Lengchan's eyes were bloodshot, his face contorted, and he roared like a maddened beast.
"I am the Demon Lord you've been talking about! Weren't you waiting for me? So, I'm here!" Hao Shuai replied.
"Impossible! We didn't receive any news. How did you get up here?" Zuo Lengchan roared almost hysterically.
"Oh, you mean this! I saw the path looked difficult, and I'm too lazy to climb, so I just flew up!" Hao Shuai said, then he flew around the hall to prove he wasn't lying.
Seeing Hao Shuai fly with his own eyes, Zuo Lengchan spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Do you want me to exterminate your entire Songshan School, making it famous in the Martial World? Or should I leave some descendants for you?" Hao Shuai asked with a serious expression.
"Speak! What do you want to let the disciples of the Songshan School go?" Zuo Lengchan said, playing along.
"Clever! As expected of Alliance Leader Zuo. It's so much easier talking to smart people like you. You know, it's so hot these days, and I get cravings for frozen watermelon! But I don't know any cold-attribute inner energy techniques. What should I do?" Hao Shuai said with a smile.
Zuo Lengchan immediately understood what Hao Shuai meant and took out a secret manual from his embrace, throwing it to Hao Shuai.
"You know, when you wander the Martial World, you can get injured easily. It's a shame I don't have any healing pills on me. What if I get injured and die someday?" Hao Shuai added.
"The second room in the back hall is the Songshan School's medicine room. Behind the bookshelf, you'll find the Songshan School's hidden potent healing medicine."
"Alliance Leader Zuo, you don't know, but my family was poor when I was a child, and I couldn't afford to go to school. That's why I love reading so much now."
Hearing Hao Shuai's shameless words, Zuo Lengchan almost choked. If he could defeat Hao Shuai, he would have roared, "How did you learn all this martial arts if you never went to school? Were you born with it?"
"The library is to the right of the back hall." Unfortunately, Zuo Lengchan could only reluctantly tell Hao Shuai the location of the library.
"Alright, that's all! Don't worry! I keep my word, I'll let the Songshan School go." Seeing that he had gotten what he wanted, Hao Shuai was too lazy to torment Alliance Leader Zuo any further.
"I hope you keep your promise and spare the Songshan School. Otherwise, I won't let you go even as a ghost." Zuo Lengchan knew Hao Shuai wouldn't let him off, so he could only try his best to protect the Songshan School.
Splat!
"Then go be a ghost!" Hao Shuai shot him through the forehead, ending the heroic life of Zuo Lengchan. He hated people who spouted nonsense at death's door the most, as if saying one more word would kill the enemy.
After Hao Shuai, following Alliance Leader Zuo's instructions, plundered the medicine and books, and came out of the library preparing to leave, he discovered he was surrounded by Songshan School disciples.
It seemed the Songshan School disciples had discovered the body in the main hall.
Looking at the Songshan School disciples surrounding him, Hao Shuai kept his promise and let them go. He broke through the roof and flew away right in front of them.
Thus, a few days later, the entire Martial World was in an uproar, spreading the glorious deeds of Hao Shuai annihilating the Songshan School and Hao Shuai's new nickname:
The Flying Demon Lord!
