The Blood Devouring Pearl's origins were unknown, but it had a strange property: it fed on the essence and blood of living beings. Any living creature that approached it would have its essence and blood drained within moments, leaving behind nothing but a husk. It was an utterly terrifying evil object.

Over a thousand years ago, the Demonic Cult elder Black Heart Old Man had obtained the pearl. He refined it into a magical treasure for its ability to devour essence and blood, and for a time it was invincible.
