Wasn't that where the first movie began? The only question was whether the story had started yet.
Hao Shuai asked again, "Then is the governor here Governor Weatherby Swann?"
"Yes, sir!" the magistrate replied.
"Good~~ If you can tell me whether anything interesting has happened around here lately, these two gold coins are yours!"
As he spoke, the two coins in Hao Shuai's hand gleamed enticingly in the setting sun.
"Sir, nothing much has happened in Royal Port lately. If I had to name something interesting, it'd be that Commodore Norrington captured an intriguing pirate today. The pirate even rescued Miss Elizabeth," the magistrate said, his eyes fixed on the coins.
"An intriguing pirate? And he rescued Elizabeth? Isn't that the opening scene?" Hao Shuai was a little surprised by his good luck. Could it be because he'd brought Selena along?
At the thought, Hao Shuai's mood instantly lifted. He nodded slightly at the magistrate. "Thanks for your answer. Here's your reward."
Hao Shuai gently held out his hand. The magistrate's breathing quickened, and he hurriedly cupped both hands to catch the coins.
A moment later, the coins clinked together. The magistrate's eyes narrowed at once. They were two enticing gold coins.
"Oh, heavens! Thank you for your generosity, sir. Magistrate Butler is always at your service, esteemed gentleman," the magistrate said obsequiously.
Though the magistrate managed the entire harbor and collected taxes, the taxes belonged to the governor. He could only collect his meager salary each month.
And though the Great Eagle Empire now ruled the seas and plundered far and wide, most of its wealth ended up in the hands of the upper classes. A lowly magistrate like him wasn't even entitled to a taste.
