The banquet was followed by a ball. Long after it ended, an intelligence agent from the Dawn Trading Company rode by carriage to Frederick's residence.
"Ship's Helm?" Frederick said, intrigued by the agent's code name. "The helm is the most important part of a ship. You must be very capable."
The agent, whose code name was "Ship's Helm," was very young. He seemed to be a genius.
Frederick believed there could never be too many talented people, and planned to recruit him into the Duchy of Weissen's intelligence service.
To his surprise, Ship's Helm said sheepishly, "My lord, our code names are assigned by drawing lots."
Frederick was speechless.
Ship's Helm continued with the latest intelligence. "The latest report is that Prince Charles of the Kingdom of Angland has formed an army equipped primarily with weapons the Duchy of Weissen exports abroad. It has five thousand soldiers and six thousand support staff. They're currently gathering at the port, waiting for supplies. They're very likely to set sail on a long voyage, but their destination is unknown."
Frederick now understood why Armand had reacted that way.
If the Kingdom of Angland's army landed in Le Havre, it wouldn't be hard for them to take the city with help from the inside.
Then, if the Rhine Alliance's great army from Hanma City sailed to Le Havre and landed there, with a main force like the Northern Front Corps of the Wesen Army among its ranks, they could march all the way to Paris.
Frederick thought it over and said, "Have your people increase their efforts to gather information from the outskirts. Notify me at once if you hear anything."
