Turning the Tide

Hubble knew nothing of the New Divine United Kingdom army's internal meeting.

In truth, part of him was gambling. He was not betting that the enemy would be careless, but that under the cover of night, the combat strength of both sides had become very close.

They had not exchanged fire with the enemy for two days. Closing in again was a huge gamble.

Hubble took the field personally, creeping step by step toward the outskirts of the New Divine United Kingdom's encampment.

This had once been an immigrant village, but after the residents evacuated, it had become the enemy's temporary base.

The choice of encampment also revealed the New Divine United Kingdom army's intentions.

If they intended to make one last desperate attempt at sabotage, they should have pushed farther in.

Instead, not only had they failed to advance deeper into the Great Xia Colony's interior, they had chosen a more comfortable environment.

Perhaps they wanted one final comfortable night before beginning the harsh life of fleeing tomorrow.

From the perspective of the New Divine United Kingdom soldiers alone, they had been winning all along, and hard-won victories at that, earned through every ounce of their effort.

Then suddenly, they were about to start running for their lives. The psychological gap was enormous.

If the officers did not let them relax a little, it could become a hidden danger during their escape.

In victory, every conflict could be concealed.

But in defeat, even breathing could be wrong.

Mutiny was nothing new.

It could be said that for Hubble, timing, terrain, and popular support were all on his side.

But at this moment, Hubble did not know that he had come here to take a risk with a gambler's mindset.

"There's an observation post ahead!"

The old sergeant crept over
