After Leon ended the meeting, he met He Kai again.
The latter clearly wanted to know what had happened, yet feared there might be things he should not ask about, leaving him looking as though he wanted to speak but hesitated.
There was nothing worth concealing about this matter itself.
Leon chose to tell him, "The Duke has ordered all Knight Orders to begin expanding. Then we'll launch a Great Counterattack, putting enough pressure on the Blue Star Federation Military Government and buying time for our allies elsewhere."
He Kai grew tense again. The war had come too suddenly, and he had never had the time to think things through carefully.
They had only just escaped danger, yet there was no more time for him to recover.
"When... will the war end?" He Kai could not help asking.
Though he had once imagined gaining everything he wanted through war, now that war had truly arrived, he did not feel nearly as happy as he had expected.
Leon smiled. Seeing through He Kai's thoughts, he deliberately walked over and patted him on the shoulder. "When it ends isn't up to us, so don't be too nervous. We can only go with the flow when it comes to the beginning and end of war, but during the course of it, we can guide things a little. Survive... then seize everything you want."
If there was any fastest path to crossing social classes, it was undoubtedly war.
Both of them had been mentally prepared for this. They were merely feeling sentimental for the moment.
He Kai adjusted his mindset and began to smile a little. "I'm afraid I won't be able to join the first wave of counterattacks. The He Family suffered heavy losses this time, and we won't be able to replenish
